FRIDAY's FAVE FIVE

more participants at Susanne at Living to tell the Story.

1.What a boring week ! On Monday morning after a rather sleepless night with wild dreams I don't remember, I felt so lousy that I took my temperature and I had 38.5°C (101 F) ! That was fever. It didn't worry me too much because I belong to the people who have high fever or nothing.

Mr. G. called the doctor, he stated that I had a relapse of my bronchitis I had just before I went on my UK tour. All this is Shakespeare's fault and the cat in Stratford upon Avon (see post below) It was so sunny that I forgot the wind and hadn't dressed properly.

2. Mr. G is a very efficient nurse, he ran to the pharmacy got everything for me and informed all people around that his poor wife was almost dying in her bed ! Then he watched with eagle eyes that I took my medication  in time and checked twice, with the result that he got on my nerves. He also popped in all 5 min to ask if I am feeling better, which made me feeling worse. I like to be alone hide in a corner (in this case behind my computer) and suffer in silence until I feel better.Don't tell me what a kind and loving husband he is, he makes me think of people who ask sleeping people if they are sleeping !

3.

The flowers I had bought needed to be planted so with waggling knees and under the watchful eyes of Mr. G. I managed to put them in the earth. They should spread out and cover the earth completely. Then exhausted I watched TV. Mr. G. tidied up behind me and after this big effort collapsed himself. What a couple !

4. I had a lot of phone calls from friends and neighbors who wanted to know if I was still alive. I was.
Dominique visited me keeping "long distance" to bring over her "Piou Piou" the canary  which will stay with us for 10 days in the guest room, far away from the cats.

Still Arthur once managed to sneak in and slept on the cage ! The canary didn't mind. It looked almost like that, only that his head and the paws were hanging over the cage !

5. I had to go for my car check up, and I drove to the Garage. Mr. G. followed me and dropped me off at Nicole's for a drink until my car would be ready. I arrived and felt as if I had climbed the Mount Everest !

We sat on her terrace and I admired the beautiful garden of her neighbor who is 82 and has no gardener !!
I told her about my UK trip and if I am not too weak maybe I will join her on Sunday at the Belgian coast where she has a flat at the seafront. The air of the seaside is always good for an ending bronchitis !

A CAT OR SHAKESPEARE's CAT ?

Jenny Matlock
more participants at Jenny Matlock's Alphabet Thursday

When on my tour around the UK we stopped in Stratford upon Avon which is Shakespeare's birthplace, I was without any doubt the only one who was less interested in Shakespeare's life and where he was buried but rather in a cat about which I had read in April in a post written by  Barbara from Words, Words, Words.  about a ginger cat who lives opposite Shakespeare's birthplace. I had told the whole bus, driver and guide included that I also wanted to look for this cat. My traveling companions (10 different nationalities) laughed and were all with me and promised to also keep an open eye, even the once who came from continents where people are not so cat friendly.

I did my duty and followed the group, although I knew Shakespeare from school, he wrote in perfect German too

I admired the house and the Holy Trinity Church outside and inside but not the grave because they asked 5 £ to have a look on a stone. There were more interesting stones to see in the outside graveyard.

As soon as we had free time, I started my investigations as Chief inspector Gattina with my Detective sergeant Ilona. After having asked in a first souvenir shop I was told by an Asian looking lady that the cat would live a little further in a souvenir shop. First she thought she misunderstood and I was asking for a Shakespeare's cat sculpture. I don't know if Shakespeare had a cat, it wasn't written nowhere. When I asked in the second shop the owner smiled, and told me the cat's name was Angus and that he always walks up and down the street, and that he thinks that Angus belonged to another shop a little further down the road.

We started walking down the road and I asked in another shop. There several vendors came and gathered around us to report about Angus. That he goes in every shop, but isn't a stray cat and wears a collar. Some evidences more.

But in the other shops I got the same answers, and nobody had seen Angus this day. I concluded that he must be very intelligent and not walk along his personal street when it was a bank holiday in England and his street packed with tourists and worse ... with dogs !

Angus prefers his street like this, as shown by Barbara

He also needs a little space to water the souvenir post cards.

I left my Chief Inspector mission and returned as simple tourist to the bus. Nobody had seen Angus. But  at least the whole bus had something to laugh about.

Now the conclusion is : "To be or not to be Shakespeare's cat, that is the question" !

PS. Please notice that Shakespeare is wearing an earring !!

WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEKEND ?

Helps you to remember what you have done on the weekend of June 1st . If you participate please put the little logo on the top of your post and leave your link.

When I compare this weekend to the one of last week, I wonder how many things you can do in one day !
Last weekend I walked around Edinburgh, saw the Braveheart monument, the Scottish highlands, Loch Ness and a Whisky distillery !!

This weekend I tried to put all my pictures into the corresponding files with dates and names, and was looking for a whole day which I couldn't find and finally found it misfiled ! Of course. This kept me quiet busy on Saturday. But I also did some little shopping, we ran out of bread and cheese,

Then I mowed the lawn, in fact cat Arthur supervised while I was watching TV and washed the dishes, no, that's a lie, the dishwasher did it ! How nice to live in modern times !

Mr. G. suddenly got an energy attack, and moved the TV in his room to our guest room, and then he screwed and put in the board of the shelf again. While a few years ago he would have done this kneeling, now he sits on a chair ! He got a little rusty !

On Sunday morning the sun was shining but still unusually cold for the season. People are still wearing winter clothes ! I went to the market to meet my cigarette supplier, for mostly Mr. G's consumption (yes he knows that it is bad) and then I saw apricots and peaches for such a cheap price that I bought

this shopping carrier ! At least it looks fancy and not like the old women thing in black or Scottish pattern which they carry around. So it was easy for me to pull the thing til the bus station. I got some compliments from other ladies who found my shopping bag so nice and cheerful.

I also bought some plants for our garden, which is rather late in blooming, it still looks as if spring had just begun ! I wonder if we will ever have one or directly switch into summer or maybe into winter right away.

Then I continued with my photos and now I have almost finished.
